In the context of the design of stable and efficient dye solar cells (« Grätzel » cells) with large active areas, a two-year post-doctoral position is opened at the 'Institut des Sciences Moléculaires' in Bordeaux. The candidate will be in charge of the design, the preparation and the characterization of nanoporous metal oxide films deposited onto transparent conductive substrates. The films will be prepared from colloidal solutions of oxide nanoparticles using different deposition methods. Moreover, he will perform the surface modification of the nanoparticulate layers with suitable dyes and will carry out the insertion of the electrolyte solution into the dye-modified porous layers. The candidate should have a strong background in the fields of oxide nanoparticle synthesis, of sol-gel chemistry, of colloids and should be familiar with the preparation of thin films by the liquid route. Beyond these points concerning the synthesis and the processing of the active layers, the work will be carried out in collaboration with a team of physicists, specialist of the characterization of organic and hybrid solar cells.
