This post-doctoral position is proposed by the Colloidal Engineering, Chemistry and Emulsions research group of the Centre de Recherche Paul Pascal (CRPP). This work will be part of the TOCOMO project, funded by the French “Agence Nationale de la Recherche” during 12 months, on the study of the potentiality of chemically prepared colloidal molecules for the fabrication of photonic colloidal crystals exhibiting a complete band gap.

Our research consortium is producing original multiphasic (made of different materials) colloids with a well controlled morphology through a seeded polymerization reaction [1, 2]. The candidate will be in charge of: 1) the controlled assembly of these colloids to create full photonic band gap materials and 2) the structural and optical characterization of the obtained 2D and 3D materials.

This 1 year post-doctoral position will be held in a very stimulating context: in a young dynamic research group, in close contact with the partners involved in the TOCOMO project, and benefit from the know-how and experimental facilities of the CRPP laboratory.

For this project we are looking for an experimenter chemist, with a good background in physical chemistry and colloid science and willingness for carrying experiments in close collaboration with theoreticians. Experience in electron microscopy and spectroscopy techniques would be a plus but is not mandatory.
